“Emmanuel Hubert, General Manager, had already talked to me about joining the Arkéa Pro Cycling Team. I had declined the offer in order to finish my studies, and above all I didn’t want to take this step without being able to train at 100%. Now I’m on a slower pace with my studies so I can ride properly. I also work, but I am lucky to have a boss who gives me the freedom to train. I thank him for that. So all the lights are green. Being confined and not being able to run also cost me, as did having to stop my sporting activity because of my studies. These two factors made me want to cycle 100% to see what could be achieved and not have any regrets. My results at the French track championships with a short training cycle definitely convinced me to go for it. I also know that this opportunity may not come around twice. So I took the chance. I want to give 100% to live this experience as a professional cyclist. I know that this year may be difficult because I haven’t raced much recently, so winter work will be fundamental. My ambitions will be to learn and help my teammates. I also have time trial skills, so why not continue to explore them. This 2022 season will be above all one of discovery for me.”

Anaïs Morichon

“I had a great season on the road, coming down to amateur level this year. I signed a podium in a French Cup round and finished 3rd in the French Espoirs Championships, and 4th in the time trial. This gave me a new motivation. I then contacted Franck Renimel, sports director of the Arkéa Pro Cycling Team, to see if he was interested in taking me on as a member of his team. Franck told me that 2021 had allowed me to mature and that he had appreciated my behaviour during the last season. So he offered me a contract for the 2022 season. I am happy to join the team, I know the staff, the girls and my integration will be quick. I also felt that this year I had gained in strength, my role will be to help my teammates during the major events of the season, and on a more personal level I would like to show my progression compared to 2020 on certain UCI events”

Franck Renimel, Sport director

“Anaïs Morichon knows the team. She has matured in a year and has shown great things in the amateur ranks. This 2021 season has allowed her to progress, and I am sure that next year she will continue to do so by returning to the Arkéa Pro Cycling Team. She won’t need any learning curve or time to get to know the group as she knows almost all of them. Maryanne Hinault will join the professional ranks. She follows in the footsteps of her father, Sébastien, who has been a professional for many years. She will make her first professional year in 2022, and will be in an apprenticeship phase with us after having put her career on hold for a few months for her studies. We are playing the proximity card with Maryanne because she is from Brittany. She also has a great experience on the track, which is a great school of cycling, and we hope that she will be able to transfer this to the road.”
