Maaike Coljé: "Want to progress with Arkéa Pro Cycling Team
Maaike Coljé, a new recruit to the Arkéa-Samsic team, is a Dutch national with a climbing profile.
“In 2023, I want to make a lot of progress, especially on a personal level, but also collectively with my new teammates. The objective will also be to work as a team with all the girls who make up the Arkéa Pro Cycling Team. I have climbing skills, but I also manage on flat roads, or when the competitions require placement and above all rubbing shoulders to be able to hold a place in the peloton. But really the races I prefer are the ones with a lot of difference in altitude. Of course I dream of racing in the Tour de France Femmes by Zwift with my new team, Arkéa Pro Cycling Team. It would be another great step forward in my career. I will do everything, we will do everything to get this selection. Having seen it many times in races last year, I think that my new team is very professional, everything is square, with equipment identical to that of the boys from Arkéa-Samsic. I really feel that this is the right structure for me to continue to progress, and above all that the team will continue to do the same in the future”.
The words of the General Manager
“Dutch cycling has been a leader in women’s cycling for many years, and the arrival of Maaike Coljé in our squad is far from neutral. She is a climber, but she also knows how to hold her place in the peloton when things get tough. She could very quickly become an important rider in our squad. This is what we expect from her, to shine in particular on the most hilly races of the women’s calendar, whether it is on the one-day races or on the occasion of the stage races with the same type of profile”.
