Pre-race

I have contracted Covid-19, without any symptoms. But I don’t know where I stand because my feelings during training were fluctuating. The Scheldeprijs will be an indication for me, hoping to have good feelings on this race which can end in a final package. I will discover this event. Last year it was the very first women’s edition of this race, and it was. If I feel good, I will join the sprint, if the victory is at stake, in order to try to get a good result, and if I don’t feel able to do it, I will without any worries put myself at the service of the team“.

The briefing

“The Scheldeprijs starts with a straight section, followed by a circuit with a paved sector on a narrow road. It can be windy here, which can cause the race to become tougher, with attempts at tacking. The aim is for the team to race as a team in this event, which will see the best female sprinters in the world at the start. Lucie may consider a sprint performance, but she has had the Covid recently and is not sure where she stands. The sprint may be a solution, but other tactics can also be initiated on our part. We can indeed imagine several race schemes“.
