“I didn’t start as I usually do because I couldn’t click my pedal correctly, I started quickly but not as I am used to. I took the lead quickly because I prefer to run in front in cyclo-cross, so I took the lead. I didn’t have good legs at the beginning, so I didn’t continue my effort, and my opponents came back on me. When they made the junction, I stayed in the wheels, but unfortunately I fell and lost ten to fifteen seconds. It was hard to close the gap.
The muddy course offered a lot of running sections, did I lose time in these sectors, I don’t know. But I don’t think so. I am not disappointed with my race, nor with my third place considering the level of my opponents. I am happy to be on the podium. The season is not over yet, and we must not give up. I still have two more World Cup races to go, including the one in Flamanville in France, and probably the Cyclo-cross World Championships in the USA“.
