Tour Féminin International des Pyrénées - Clara Emond: "I can't wait"

The Tour Féminin International des Pyrénées will be an opportunity for the Arkéa Pro Cycling Team to get to grips with the high mountains, with a finish in Hautacam scheduled for stage 2.

Clara Emond

Pre-race

“I knew the Pyrenees from last year’s course in Font-Romeu, but I’d never been to Pau before, for example. It was great to discover the stages of the next Tour de France for Women with the Arkéa Pro Cycling Team. It’s a beautiful mountain range, with long, hard passes and beautiful roads – it’s quite different from the Alps. The Tour Féminin International des Pyrénées will feature a stage for pure climbers with a pass like Hautacam, which I’ve heard about and which is quite steep. The aim of the race will be to show the colours of the Arkéa Pro Cycling Team. I’m really looking forward to it.

The briefing

“The Tour Féminin International des Pyrénées is a young, but already great event on the women’s calendar. This will be Arkéa Pro Cycling Team’s second participation in this competition, which gives pride of place to female climbers, particularly on the second stage, with the finish scheduled for the summit of Hautacam. It’s an opportunity for our female climbers to express themselves. Our team will be built around riders with these qualities, such as Clara Emond, Maiike Colje and Danielle De Francesco. Marie-Morgane Le Deunnf can also hope to shine in this race, with profiles that could be of interest to sprinters, particularly on the 3rd and final stage. The proximity of this race has also enabled us to reconnoitre the forthcoming stages in the Pyrenees, which will feature in the next Tour de France for Women (23-30 July).
