Scheldeprijs, M. Trégouët: "I love to race in Belgium"
New professional in the Arkéa Pro Cycling Team, Maurène Tregouët will continue her apprenticeship on the Belgian races that she particularly likes.

“I really like riding on cobblestones. I discovered them as a junior with the French team during the Ghent-Wevelgem classic, and during a training camp. And this year with Arkéa Pro Cycling Team, I was able to broaden my field of competitions in Belgium because our early season program is quite focused on this type of competition. I like the atmosphere that prevails at these competitions, and the proximity with the public as well. It’s a whole atmosphere that I like, in fact. To ride well on cobblestones, you need a mix of balance, strength and riding skills. I come from the cyclo-cross school, so of course it reminds me of this kind of winter competition, with sometimes difficult weather conditions. It’s really the kind of cycling I enjoy. There are people everywhere on the races, the public encourages us, and at the exit of the campers we are asked for autographs and selfies.”

“During this month of April, we will have a good block of races in Belgium, with the Grand Prix de l’Escaut which will be run a few days before Paris-Roubaix, and after this event we will line up at the Ronde de Mouscron, races that have been on our calendar for a few years now, and that our riders know well. These races are always disputed, and I expect from us a collective race, and why not a good performance from Marie-Morgane Le Deunff if she arrives in a group”.
