“The race got tougher as we approached the final circuit. In the first hills, the selection was made from the back. I got away with a girl from Saint-Michel-Mavic-Auber93 before dropping her and then being caught by the Kraak-Wiel duo. On the last climb, I was feeling good so I tried to attack. But perhaps a little too late to make any difference to my two rivals. Kraak went on the attack at the red light and I was on Wiel’s wheel at that point, but she didn’t necessarily chase her down and by the time I realised it, the gap had been closed. Nevertheless, I’m satisfied with my race and with this podium. I know I need to improve in that area, but it makes me want to get back out there!”

“We’re delighted with this podium finish. The team behaved very well together today. As expected, everything fell into place on the final circuit. Anastasiya and Clara found themselves together in the leading group with around twenty kilometres to go. They communicated well and Clara was one of the first to animate the end of the race before being joined by Kraak and Wiel. When Kraak attacked at the red light, it was a bit of a look back and that’s perhaps the only regret we can have today because Clara looked really good. But it’s still a fine third place when you consider that this is only Clara’s 2nd year as a professional racer. She’s still learning the trade.”
