Lucie Jounier: "Het Nieuwsblad, a typical Flanders race”

“We will participate for the second time in the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, it will be like last year our first race of the season, but unlike 2021 we will not start in the unknown this time. It’s a race where you have to be in good shape and also have luck on your side. It’s a typical Flanders race, hard with cobbles and hills, so you are in the Belgian atmosphere. I have had a studious winter, I have just come out of a training camp in altitude with the French team during which we worked well, so I hope to be good on the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. I’ve done everything I can to make sure that happens. I can’t wait to hang up a number on the Arkéa jersey”.
The briefing
“Het Nieuwsblad is the event that will mark the start of our 2022 season. Belgium is a territory that has been successful for our riders since the creation of Team Arkéa. Lucie Jounier has shown herself to be comfortable on this type of terrain and in these races, and the team involved in this event is solid, even if we know that the competition is strong and the level high, but we have the ambition to do well between the mountains and the cobbles Strongers will be first. This race will be high level, we try to be well, if one of girl’s finish top 20 it will be good”.
