Amandine Fouquenet 4th at the U23 World CX Champs

“I had a lot of fun today on this circuit in Hoogerheide. I got a good start and was in the lead for the first few minutes. Then Van Anrooij and Backstedt started and the gaps widened. I was struggling to keep up with the chasing group, I was holding on to 5th-6th position. When I found myself alone in the last part of the race, that’s when things finally got better: I still had energy left when the others in front of me were collapsing and that’s how I managed to get this 4th place. Even if the podium is not at the end, this good result allows me to finish my winter on a positive note.”
